Nicz Records presents its first release by Ukraine-based Myztical. An EP inspired by early 90-vibes, dance music, night life and field recordings. Canadian Kevin McPhee concludes the EP with his deep and straighforward attitude-remix.

We are exploring new sonic territories with our second release by SPb based producer Ponty Mython, well known abroad with his label Beats Delivery.

The main theme called “Jesus” makes you stomp your feet to its funky beat and phat acid bassline that mutates during the track keeping things deep without getting too religious. Futureboogie man Christophe does some good work on the remix adding the extra syrup: even more bass plus preacher’s speech in the middle of the track. The remix will be a digital exclusive bonus.

The B-side goes even deeper, starting off with the smooth disco beat with a 2step flavor, little guitar and that catchy male vocal the track changes halfway with addition of funky acid squelches and 4x4 house beat

Out: June 2013

A1. That Girl
A2. That Girl (Locked Groove’s She’s A Hoe Remix )
B1. That Girl (Vakula Remix)

That Girl, produced by our recent Belgian discovery Innershades, opens with a repeated voice sample and a nostalgic pad, just to drop one minute later into one of the rawest hard hitting house tracks you’ll see around in a while. Coming up next, Hotflush’s Locked Groove gives the original track an acidic twist halved with his signature top-class production skills.
As if that isn’t enough, the B-side is followed by a simple-yet-effective remix from Ukraine’s very own Vakula who provides what seems a purely energetic techno cut right up to the point when the killer snare comes in.

Great taste! Vinyl only!

I grew up in Russian city Novosibirsk, and at the age of 16 years I got an opportunity to study in Great Britain. I moved there straight after I finished my high school. I never thought I could be a DJ. Nevertheless, I’ve been always a big music fan and used to hang around quite a lot in music stores since I was 12. I started to get into house music when I turned 17. I think that this type of music won’t be perceived straight away, I discovered it through such things as jack’n’groove. Jacking is the basis of all house music. I’ve never thought about djing, but I got an opportunity to play in a small bar. I was noticed and asked to play in a club. I used to be a resident of several venues, but at the same time it seemed so fake for me. When I realized that Bournemouth is not a good place to be self-actualized I gave up and started to collect vinyl. I think that I more the collector than the actual dj, but on the other hand I am always up for playing in London and abroad.
During my sets I prefer to mix up several styles. I usually play Chicago house with the slight touch of New Jersey vibes and nowadays ‘banging’ techno tunes. I always try to experiment and make my sets sound exciting for the listeners. As I say, I just go with the flow ☺
